The Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program was passed in 2016 with the goal of becoming fully operational by the end of 2018. It was not until January of 2019 that the first dispensary opened, with 30 others being approved by the time October began.
Recently, there has been a string of dispensary announcements as the Ohio Department of Commerce conducts final inspections on the remaining 26 dispensaries that have not yet opened for the first time. A total of 13 dispensaries have been approved in the last couple of weeks, with grand openings just around the corner!
Let's take a look at the newest dispensaries that have been approved in this latest string of announcements by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy:

Dayton: 333 Wayne Avenue, Dayton, 45410
The Botanist has had three locations held up in a lawsuit with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. According to Kevin Barry of Cleveland 5 News, The Botanist COO Kate Nelson told him,
"We are very happy to announce that we have resolved our dispute with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy in a way that allows us to open our remaining three dispensaries in Cleveland, Columbus, and Akron..."
The Botanist has dispensaries currently open in Canton and Wickliffe, with the newest dispensaries coming to Akron, Columbus, and Cleveland. We are still waiting on the OBP to announce that these three locations have officially received their certificates of operation.
