Certain edible marijuana products, including gummies shaped like animals, fruit, or cartoons, would be banned to prevent marketing to children.
Dispensary expansion would be limited to 350 statewide, with new dispensaries prohibited from opening within half a mile of an existing one. Additionally, dispensaries would be banned from opening near churches, schools, public parks, playgrounds, and libraries.
Further restrictions include allowing landlords to prohibit marijuana cultivation, smoking, or vaping on rental properties and denying unemployment benefits to workers fired for marijuana use. The bill would also eliminate licensing requirements for individuals seeking employment at dispensaries. If passed, these changes would increase costs for recreational users, limit accessibility, and make home cultivation more difficult.
